Falstaff Award: BEST BARS 2022

Our HOF BAR Wine & Cocktail bar was awarded the Falstaff Award BEST WINE & COCKTAILBARS 2022 in the category "New wine bar opening". Here is the official reason:

"Sardines and champagne are a sparkling match," says hotelier Franz-Josef Perauer. When he's right, he's right! The Elvis fan's "sardines bar" made the realignment of the house nationally visible. Flanked by the wine selection and the cocktails, the HOF BAR lives up to its claim as a meeting place for connoisseurs.«

Bartender’s Choice of the Month:

Aquavit Manhattan

8 cl Aquavit (Scandinavian herbal spirit matured in barrique barrels)
3 cl Red (sweet) Vermouth
1 cl Cherry Water (Kirschwasser)
2 ml Angostura Bitter
Orange zest & maraschino cherries
ice cubes, shaker, jiggler, sieve, wooden skewer

Measure all ingredients with a jiggler and pour into a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain the contents through a sieve into a chilled champagne bowl (or tumbler) with ice cubes. Peel the orange zest, turn it over the drink and place it on top. Arrange two maraschino cherries on a wooden skewer and decorate across the glass.
